Two of my favorite finds this week were garden surplus from other peoples gardens. The first is a bouquet of Organic Genovese Basil from my neighbor’s garden. I sell our surplus eggs at her farmstand on Fridays and Saturdays. When I picked my cooler up on Saturday afternoon I found this gift sitting atop the cooler.
I placed it on my kitchen window sill and have changed the water daily. We’ve been enjoying basil all week in salads and on homemade pizza. It’s so delicious. When the sun hits it in the after noon, it warms the bouquet up releasing the best smell. Thank you Barbara!
These beauties are my second favorite find of the week. Half I found at a yard sale. The owner had boxful that she was giving away for free. The other half I found on my kitchen counter in the morning when I woke up. It seems a coworker brought them in where Davey Baby works the night before.
It only takes 4 lbs. for a batch of Bread ‘n Butter Pickles! We had a couple left over to enjoy fresh in salad or alongside sandwiches.
Those are my favorite finds this week. What has been yours?
