20 Mule Team Borax Review & Giveaway ~3 Winners!

This giveaway is now closed.

I have been a homemaker for many, many , many years and have raised 4 boys using cloth diapers.  I am personally well acquainted with 20 Mule Team Borax.  I L-O-V-E this product!

If you have never had the chance to use 20 Mule Team Borax let me tell you it is an awesome laundry detergent booster and multi-purpose cleaner.

What is Borax?

  • 20 Mule Team Borax is 100% natural mineral from the earth.  Once removed from the ground it is washed, dried, and boxed for consumers.
  • Borax is the common name for sodium tetraborate:  a naturally occurring substance produced by the perpetual evaporation of seasonal lakes.
  • Absolutely nothing is added.  No phosphates, chlorine, or other additive chemicals.

Because it is 100% natural I felt good using this product throughout my home.  Here are some of the ways I use 20 Mule Team Borax:

In the kitchen:  I increase the power of my dishwasher detergent by sprinkling a 1/4 cup of 20 Mule Team Borax onto the bottom of the dishwasher to reduce spots and film on dishes and glasses.

In the bathroom:  I sprinkle 1/4 cup of 20 Mule Team Borax into the toilet  bowl, then swish with my toilet brush to keep bowl and brush bacteria—and odor—free.

In the laundry:  I add 1/2 cup to a full load of laundry because it improves the cleaning power of my laundry detergent.  It also helps remove tough stains because it is a natural alternative to colorsafe bleach.  It deodorizes and freshens too!  (This has been mighty helpful with our son’s sweaty sporting clothes and uniforms, grass stains and our barn clothing.)

Baby:  I always added 1 tablespoon per gallon of warm water in my cloth diaper pail and kept the diapers soaking until I had enough to do a full load of laundry.  Then I added another 1/2 cup, along with my detergent, when washing our baby’s diapers and clothes.

Note:  I’m kind of a cloth diaper nerd.  I truly enjoyed handing fresh, white, diapers on the line to dry.  I never had problems with staining and I think its because I used 20 Mule Team Borax diligently.  🙂
