I Am Not Above A Bit Of Deception

David has a "thing" for MacDonald's Mocha Frappes. I knew I could build these at home but David wasn't so sure I could duplicate them. So I set out to deceive him. All in good fun of course!

To duplicate a MacDonald's Mocha Frappe you need these key ingredients:

1 Cup Coffee Ice Cream

1/4 Cup Milk

Whipped Cream

Chocolate Flavored Syrup

Frappe the 1 cup of ice cream, milk and about 2 tablespoons of the chocolate syrup in your blender until smooth. Pour into a clean MacDonald's Frappe cup. Layer on the whipped cream and drizzle on the chocolate syrup.

Voila!

Hood Cottage Cheese Reward Program Change

Do you remember back in May when I told you about the Hood Cottage Cheese Rewards Progran on this Trying It Tuesday post? Well I received this update to their program in todays mail. I like this change. Shaw's wouldn't take the printable FREE coupons. Having Hood mail them will clear up this program!

"Dear Hood® Rewards Program Participant,

We're writing to let you know the process of claiming your coupon reward in the Hood Cottage Cheese Reward program is changing. We will now mail your reward coupon directly to your home instead of requiring you to print it from your computer. A Stop @ Staples

I learned something new @ Staples today. When I have a Staples Rewards check to shop with @ Staples I have always made sure that I had purchased enough to use the entire check . Because I thought that I had to. NOT SO! Today I had a Staples Reward Check but I didn't have enough merchandise, after coupons, to use it all up. Enter an extremely helpful sales clerk and the store manager. The store clerk told me that if a customer has a balance left on their check, Staples will print a coupon for the balance rounded up to the next dollar amount. How cool is that? So I had a $12.00 Rewards Check and they printed a $5.00 Staples Coupon for me to use on my next shopping trip.

Todays trip:

• 2 reams inkjet paper @ $6.99 ea.
• 2 BIC Dry Erase marker 4-pk. @ $1.00 ea.
• 4 pencil boxes @ $1.00 ea.
• 1 Command Metal Hook $ .01
• 1 Scotch Pop Up Desk Grip price $ .01

I used:

• 2 $4.00 inkjet paper coupons that I found in a blinky machine in front of the display
• 2 $1.00 BIC coupons from the 8/1 SS insert (while posting this I realized they are actually $1.00/2 but the cashier put them both through. OOPS!)
• 1 FREE Command Metal Hook coupon that came with my Staples Rewards Check
• 1 FREE Scotch Pop Up Desk Grip coupon that also came with my Staples Rewards Check

To be honest the reciept is hard to understand but it looks like I had an extra discount given on the paper and boxes. Maybe because I used our rewards card? Anyway the balance do was $8.38. I used our $12.00 Staples Reward Check to pay and that's when they gave me a $5.00 OYNP Staples coupon.

All I know is I paid nothing out of pocket, I still have $5.00 to spend next time and I will receive 100% back for the paper purchased in our next Staples Rewards Check.

Confusing? A bit, but I know I came out ahead none the less! Oh yes! I also turned in 1 ink cartridge to be recycled so I'll also receive $2.00 for that in our next Staples Rewards Check too.
